How far in advance do I need to order my flowers?
The lead time for all orders is 2 days (if placed before noon on the day). This is to allow for sourcing the flowers, as they will be bought specially for each order. It will also give the flowers time to hydrate properly before creating your design.
How long will my flowers last?
Fresh cut flowers should be at their best for around five days and often several days beyond if carefully looked after. Please see "How do I look after my flowers?" for a step by step.
How do I look after my flowers?
On receipt and as soon as possible, cut stems should be trimmed on an angle with a sharp knife or secateurs and the flowers placed in a clean vase with fresh, cool water. Make sure to remove any leaves below the water line to prevent the growth of bacteria.
Place the flowers in a bright spot but out of direct sunlight and away from any radiators or draughts.
Water should be changed every 2-3 days and the stems recut each time if possible.
Can I choose my flowers and colours?
Please add your requests in the comment box at checkout and I will do my absolute best to accommodate your requirements. However, when dealing with a natural product heavily influenced by the weather and temperature, this can't always be possible and so availability will be different each week.
Trust that I will create something beautiful for you or your loved one with the best the season has to offer.
How do I look after my fresh door wreath?
Fresh door wreaths are made onto a sphagnum moss and willow ring base. To prolong the life of the wreath the moss needs to be watered regularly (possibly every day if it is really warm). Take the wreath off the door and lay it on the ground outside. Gently poor water directly onto the moss, avoiding any fresh flowers. Let the excess water drain and then rehang. Fresh flowers can also be given a light misting with a spray bottle.
Flowers will be in water tubes. To keep the wreath looking as fresh as possible for longer, any wilted flowers can easily be swapped out for fresh. Just make sure to fill up the tubes with fresh water.
Where do you source your flowers?
From local flower farms in the Yorkshire area during the British growing season (usually March/April to October/November). I may also source flowers from other farms elsewhere in the UK. During the winter season flowers are imported from the Dutch auctions.
What happens if nobody is home?
If the recipient isn't home at the time of delivery it is our standard policy to leave the flowers in a safe place or with a neighbour. If this happens we will leave a calling card so that the recipient knows where to find the flowers and you will receive an email with these details.
By completing your order, you accept that our responsibility for the flowers ends once they have been successfully delivered.
What type of packaging do you use?
All materials used to wrap or create your designs are either reusable, recyclable or compostable. There is zero use of any single-use plastic such as floral foam or plastic card holders.
- kraft paper wrapping and tissue paper: recyclable
- hang tags are made from FSC certified paper and printed with soy-based non toxic inks: recyclable and compostable
- containers and vases: reusable
- chicken wire used in container arrangements: reusable
- ribbons: reusable
- paperclips: reusable
- wreath bases: compostable
What is your policy on refunds?
